T.Z.P. - The ZIP Processor version 3.0 (Sept 3rd, 1991)
New in version 3.0:
■ TZP no longer requires you to add a file to complete the Authenticity
verification process. It will process ZIP files with the -AV feature
and keep the original files list completely intact.
■ Mini-shell that allows you to view the inside of a ZIP file and tag
those files for deletion. This was added to allow you to run TZP and
"clean-up" the files as well as add your AV stamp on it all in one step.
The VIEW text file feature will let you view the files before you delete
them. *** Since this mini-shell actually modifies the original ZIPs,
please read the dox (MAIN SCREEN, option [6]) before experimenting with it!
■ Minor cosmetic changes and configuration additions.
If you've never used TZP before, do read the following new features list
in previously released versions. Most of the descriptions still apply
to version 3.0!
===============================================================================
New in version 2.2:
■ Selective ZIP file processing - a full-screen "tag/untag" option where
you will be able to choose from a list of all the zip files that you
have on a directory. Please read the dox regarding this new function
especially on the tagging and untagging behavior of TZP!
■ Adds a file of your choice to the .ZIP files that TZP processes. This
option should please the sysops most. Read the section in the dox for
"Configurations". You need to know where and how to supply this file
in order to be added.
■ The "List files" option now has a MORE mode. If there are more than 70
files in the current directory, it will display the first 70 files on
one screen and then pause for a key before displaying the rest. I
didn't think anyone would have more .ZIP files than it would fit on one
screen in one directory but obviously you guys do. So, for the person
who complained that the files list scrolled off your screen before,
here's a mod especially for you!
■ There are a few other mods that I've done since version 2.1 but they're
mainly cosmetic changes so I won't mention them (actually, I can't
remember what they are anymore..hehe). Ever try to type up a dox file
after hours or coding and debugging?!! So, just try it out and
hopefully you won't run into any problems that I might have missed.
I've left the following "new features" description for v2.1 in here
because some of the information described are still vital for v2.2's
operation. So, just glance through it as a refresher if you want....
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
New options in version 2.1:
■ A command line option is now available for user-defined sub-directory
in which TZP will process ZIP files.
The format is: TZP21 d:\files\zips
Substitute "d:\files\zips" with the directory pathname that you want.
If you do not provide the pathname and simply type TZP21, the program
will run on the default start-up directory (like in ver.1.0 and 2.0).
■ You can also change the current directory after TZP has been executed.
It is option '2' from the Command Menu. It's operation is pretty much
self-explanatory.
■ You no longer have to worry about the TZP.CFG file when you run a new
version. TZP will automatically be able to determine which version
that config file is for and delete/create the config file accordingly.
It will also automatically save itself to disk when run for the first
time now.
■ TZP21.EXE can reside is ANY directory of your choice. TZP is now able
to detect it's start-up directory (directory where you ran it from)
and create the TZP.CFG config file on that directory.
■ If you choose to have a text file included as the zip comment, however,
you have to place that text file in the same directory as TZP21.EXE.
■ TZP is now more robust in terms of error trapping. In previous versions,
you probably noticed a few error messages popping up on the display when
TZP couldn't find a file. I've tried to anticipate as many probable
errors that might occur during execution and provide suitable prompts to
let you know what happened. If you encounter a problem that I did not
anticipate, please leave me email on one of the boards listed in the
dox file.
